# The client portal

> Give a client a sign-in that shows their own reports, branded as your agency, and nothing else in your workspace.

The client portal is a read-only page for your client. It carries your agency's name, colour and logo, and one "Data by Citino" line. A client signed in to it reads their own project's reports, and nothing else in your workspace: not your other clients, not raw answers, not settings.

> [!NOTE]
>
> A client does not need a login to read a report. A report's link opens with no sign-in at all. The portal is for clients who want every month in one place.

## What your client sees

* **A paragraph on what happened**, taken from their latest report.
* **One button**: "Read the *month* report", which opens that report.
* **The headline figures** from that report.
* **Every past report**, newest first, each marked month to date or provisional where that applies.

Each report opens as a web page with **Download PDF** and a way back to the list. The portal shows stored reports only, never a live figure, so what your client reads there is exactly what the report said when you generated it.

Before the first report exists, the portal says what is being measured and that you will publish the first month's report there. If you set a contact in [white label](https://docs.citino.ai/guides/agencies/white-label.md), it shows a **Talk to** button that opens your contact email or page.

## Inviting a client

**1. Open the client's Reports screen**

Open the client's project and choose **Reports**. Client access is below the months.

**2. Invite them**

Under **Invite a client**, type your client's email address and press **Invite**.

**3. They accept**

We email your client a link. It is also shown on the screen once, so you can copy it. The link works for seven days and lets them choose a password.

Once they have accepted, your client signs in at [app.citino.ai/signin](https://app.citino.ai/signin) like anyone else and lands in their portal.

If the address already has a Citino account, your client confirms with that account's password instead of choosing a new one. If the address cannot be used this way, the page tells them to reset their password from the sign-in page.

> [!WARNING]
>
> A client login belongs to one project. Invite it from that client's **Reports** screen, never from Workspace settings: the invitation there is for colleagues, who can read every project.

## Managing client logins

Client access lists each login with its state: **invitation pending** or **can sign in**.

* **Remove** takes a login away. The person can no longer sign in to the portal.
* Only an owner or admin can invite or remove a client login. Everyone else sees the list and a line saying who can.

## What a client login cannot do

* Open any screen of your workspace. Every other address sends them back to their portal.
* See another client, even one in the same workspace.
* Create API keys or connect Claude or ChatGPT to your workspace.
