# Invite your team

> Add colleagues to your workspace and choose what each of them can change.

Everyone in a workspace sees the same projects. You invite people from **Workspace settings**, in its **Members** section, and only an owner or an admin can send an invitation.

## Roles

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Owner** | Everything an admin can, and can make another member an owner or take that away. A workspace always keeps at least one owner. |
| **Admin** | Invites and removes people, changes their roles, manages API keys, and can change or archive any project. |
| **Editor** | Changes prompts and project settings. Cannot manage members or API keys, and can turn an extra engine off but not on. |
| **Viewer** | Reads every screen, except API keys and the audit log, and changes nothing except whether they get the daily alert email. Settings screens show their values read-only, with a line saying who can change them. |
| **Client login** | Agencies only. Reads one project's reports through the agency's branded portal, and nothing else. See [The client portal](https://docs.citino.ai/guides/agencies/client-portal.md). |

An invitation can make someone an admin, an editor or a viewer. To add another owner, invite them as an admin and make them an owner once they have accepted. A client login is invited from that client's project, on Reports, not from Workspace settings.

## Invite someone

**1. Open Workspace settings**

It is in the rail. You can also reach it from the account menu at the foot of the rail, under **Team** or **Workspace settings**.

**2. Fill in the invitation**

In **Members**, press **Invite people**. Enter their email, pick a role, and press **Invite**.

**3. They get an email**

The screen confirms: "We emailed them a link to join; they appear above as pending until they accept." The link lasts 7 days.

**4. They accept**

The link opens an invitation page naming your workspace and their role. Someone new to Citino chooses a password; someone who already has an account enters theirs. They press **Accept invitation** and go straight into your workspace, with no setup to do.

## Change a role or remove someone

An owner or an admin sees a role menu on each member's row. An owner can change anyone but themselves; an admin can change anyone who is not an owner. Nobody can change their own role.

**Remove** takes someone out of the workspace. You are asked once more before it happens, and they lose access on their next request. A pending invitation has **Cancel invite** instead.

Owners and admins can also read the workspace's **Audit log**, newest first: one sentence per action, naming who did it and the member, project or key it was about.

## When an invitation does not arrive

> [accordion] “That address was already invited, so nothing was sent”
>
> Inviting the same address twice sends nothing the second time. Press **Cancel invite** on their row, then invite them again: that sends a fresh link.

> [accordion] The link says the invitation has expired
>
> Links last 7 days. Cancel the old invitation and send a new one.

> [accordion] “This workspace has sent too many invitations for now”
>
> There is a daily cap on invitation emails from one workspace. Try again later.

> [accordion] They are signed in as someone else
>
> The invitation page says which address the invitation is for. They need to sign out, then sign in as that address, to accept it.
