# Sentiment when named

> How favourably AI answers describe your brand when they name it.

> When an answer names you, how favourably it describes you, on a scale from 0 (negative) to 100 (positive).

Being named is not always good news. An answer can name you to warn a buyer off. Sentiment tells you how you are being described.

## How it is counted

* **Each answer that names you is read and scored** on how it describes you, judged only on what that answer itself says. 50 is neutral.
* **An answer that names you without describing you either way is left out.** It still counts towards your visibility and position, but it has no sentiment to average.
* **Your figure is the average** of those scores, over every answer in scope.

So sentiment's `n` is the answers that both named you and said something about you. It can be smaller than position's.

## Low sample

Like position, sentiment is always shown with its `±` range and its `n`, and carries no low-sample badge: with fewer than 30 answers behind it, read it as an early signal. See [The ± band and n](https://docs.citino.ai/guides/bands-and-sample-size.md).

## What to do with it

A low score is a reason to read what the engines actually say:

* **Answers** shows every answer in full, with the brands it names.
* **Claims** checks whether the engines state your facts correctly.
* **Objections** collects the reasons the engines give a buyer not to choose you.
