# Connect ChatGPT

> Add Citino to ChatGPT as a custom connector and sign in. No API key needed.

ChatGPT connects to Citino by signing in: you add Citino's address as a connector, sign in to Citino, and allow it. ChatGPT then reads your workspace as you, read-only.

**1. Add the connector**

In ChatGPT's settings, find the connectors section and create a custom connector. Name it Citino, choose OAuth as the way it signs in, and enter this address:

```text theme={null}
https://app.citino.ai/api/mcp
```

Citino needs no client id or secret from you.

**2. Sign in to Citino**

ChatGPT sends you to Citino. If you are not signed in to Citino in that browser, sign in as you normally do, with your password or with Google.

**3. Check and allow**

Citino's consent page shows, in large type, the address of the app asking (chatgpt.com), then the account you are signed in as, the workspace it will read, what it can read, and where you will be sent back. If you belong to more than one workspace, choose the one ChatGPT should read.

Allow only if you just clicked Connect in ChatGPT yourself. **Allow** becomes active a moment after the page appears; choose it, and you are sent back to ChatGPT.

**4. Ask a question**

In a chat with the Citino connector enabled, ask in plain language: "Which competitor leads on Perplexity, and by how much compared with its ± range?"

> [!NOTE]
>
> Custom connectors are a ChatGPT feature, and where they live in its settings depends on your ChatGPT plan and on what your ChatGPT workspace's admin allows. If you cannot find them, ask whoever manages ChatGPT for your team. That is a setting in ChatGPT, not in Citino.

## Good questions to ask

* "Summarise our visibility, share of voice, position and sentiment this month, with their ± ranges."
* "Which sources do AI engines cite most for our market, and are any of them ours?"
* "Which of our claims do the engines get wrong?"
* "What objections do engines raise about us?"

ChatGPT reads figures with their ± band and sample size, and Citino tells it when it connects that a within-noise figure has not moved. If it reports a small change as news, ask it whether the change is within noise.

## Disconnecting

In Citino, open **Workspace settings → Connected apps** and choose **Disconnect** beside ChatGPT. The connection ends at once. You can also delete the connector in ChatGPT's settings.

## If it does not connect

* **"This connection request can't be used."** The request did not come from an app Citino accepts, or named a return address that app did not publish. Start again from ChatGPT's connector settings rather than from a saved link.
* **"No workspace here can connect an app."** You are signed in with a client portal login, which cannot connect apps. Sign in with your team account.
* If ChatGPT says sign-in failed after you allowed it, write to [support@citino.ai](mailto:support@citino.ai) with the time you tried, so we can see what ChatGPT sent.
